[/col] [col span=”8″ span__sm=”12″ text_depth=”2″] [accordion auto_open=”true”] [accordion-item title=”What Is MDO Plywood?”]

MDO Plywood is a great substrate for making simple site signs for things like Real Estate Listings, Construction Site Signs, Land Use Signs and any other sign type that needs to hold up outdoors for a long time with little or no maintenance.

The actual definition of MDO is available on Wikipedia (here) but, in short, it is a board that was specifically developed with sign makers and concrete form setting in mind (strong).

Our MDO is enamel coated and should last in most environments for about 5-7 years without too much visible wear.

[/accordion-item] [accordion-item title=”How Long Do Plywood Signs Last?”]

MDO Sign Faces are designed to last for about 5-7 years in most environments.

Signs that face directly south or that are exposed to constant water (such as a sprinkler system) will last for a while less.

If you plan on facing a sign directly southward or in a location that is in a sprinklered area you may want to consider using an aluminum panel. They are less prone to damage from the water but will still yellow at nearly the same rate as MDO from UV exposure.

[/accordion-item] [accordion-item title=”How Are MDO Plywood Signs Made?”]

MDO Signs are pretty simple to make and only have a couple of steps. The most important thing to consider when making a long-lasting Plywood Sign is choosing a vinyl that will last as long as the substrate (board) and treating the edges to keep out the weather.

MDO Plywood Panels are cut to size on either a panel saw (for square or rectangular signs) or our CNC router for custom shapes.

Vinyl graphics are then cut or printed on our printer and/or plotter and then laminated using either gloss or matte laminate to protect the graphics for the years of use they’ll soon endure.

One the board and graphics are cut we simply put the two together either by hand or with a heat-assisted laminator. We make them by hand for simple cut graphics and use our heated laminator to apply digital printed versions.

[/accordion-item] [accordion-item title=”How Much Does a Plywood Sign Cost?”]

MDO Plywood Signs are relatively inexpensive. Single-Sided MDO Plywood Signs go for 13.00 per square foot and double-sided MDO Plywood Signs are priced at 18.00 per square foot.

We offer quantity discounts and reduced pricing for real estate and construction customers.

[/accordion-item] [accordion-item title=”Where Are Plywood Signs Meant To Be Used?”]

Anywhere!

MDO Plywood Signs are probably best used outside and where customers aren’t likely to see the edges of your sign.

The edges of a finished MDO Plywood sign look like…plywood.

Because of that it is not recommended to use a Plywood Sign for interior retail type signage. For interior signage that wil be viewed up close we’d recommend ACM or Aluminum Signs.

[/accordion-item] [accordion-item title=”What Are Some Standard Uses For Plywood Signs?”]

Common uses for MDO Plywood Signs are: Commercial Real Estate Signs, Construction Site Signs, Main Identification Signs, Semi-Permanent Wall Signs and other uses like that.

[/accordion-item] [accordion-item title=”What Are Common Sizes For Plywood Signs?”]

There really isn’t a common size for any type of sign and MDO Plywood is no exception.

With that said most customer choose to go with panels that are: 2’x4′, 4’x4′, 4’x6′ and 4’x8′ pretty often.

MDO Plywood Signs are billed by the square foot and each one is custom made so choose a size that work best for your needs – not one that is “common”.

[/accordion-item] [accordion-item title=”How Big Can You Make Plywood Signs?”]

The plywood sheeting that we purchase comes in sizes of up to 4′ x 10′ but there isn’t really a limit on how big your new sign can be – as long as you don’t mind seams in your sign.

For seamless Plywood Signs the maximum size is 4′ x 10. For seamed Plywood Signs there is no size limit.
